Brazil produces more coffee than any other country in the world and is known for advanced, highly mechanized harvesting processes. It’s not common for coffees from a single farm to be separated out from others and we are excited to present this creamy, classic microlot grown by Antonio Da Silva.

Description

Antônio Ananias da Silva, affectionately known as Ananias, bought his first farm in 2005 with the goal of increasing his income and, perhaps, one day being his own boss.

In 2007, there were no crops on the farm and he planted varieties such as Topázio and Yellow Catuaí. In 2011, he purchased another farm and planted 4 hectares of Yellow Catucaí at 970 meters of altitude. The entire family is involved with work on the farms. Ananias always seeks to focus on quality.

For 25 years, Ananias managed Samambaia Farm. During this time, he had several experiences that shape his everyday life. In 2016 he achieved a milestone when he managed to produce 78.5 bags per hectare, which is even more impressive as he managed to produce high-quality coffees.

Ananias always tries to pick his coffees at a certain point of maturation, as he believes this is one of the main factors contributing to a good coffee.

Today Ananias is seeking to improve his properties and intends to install dryers and build paved patios and rest boxes, in addition to a house, as there still isn’t one on the farm.

Ananias loves what he does and says “I wake up happy just because I know that I do what I like and do it well.”
